A Warm Welcome From
Adam Richards and Lindsey MacKenzie
It is a pleasure to welcome you to King Charles Church of England Primary School. We hope that through visiting our website, you will see exactly what makes our school so special and why we were recognised as ‘excellent’ in our Church (SIAMS) inspection in February 2020.
Being a Church School, Christian values are at the heart of all that we do and they support us in our aim to prepare our pupils for life. We pride ourselves on our caring, nurturing, exciting and enabling environment in which every child can thrive, feel safe and achieve; where everyone will shine. At King Charles, relationships are key to ensuring that we provide the best possible experience that a primary school can offer. We place great emphasis on building positive relationships with everyone in our school community: families, pupils, staff and the wider community.
Through exploring our website, you will see that our core values of Friendship, Creativity, Aspiration, Teamwork and Achievement are the cornerstones of all that we do. We are passionate that our values serve everyone in our school family, not just the pupils in our school. Friendship is evident in the way in which all members of our school community build positive and respectful relationships. Creativity is thread throughout our curriculum and also reflects our creative practice here at King Charles. Our Ex-Days are a perfect example of this. Our core values complement our Trust’s Core Shared Values and our Trust Philosophy of ‘work hard, be honest & help others’.
Aspiration flows through every level of our school whether that be pupils or staff: We set aspirational targets and support everyone in reaching their goals. Teamwork is everywhere at King Charles. Our staff teams, colleagues and schools within our Trust, Kernow Learning, partners and our pupils’ ability to work alongside each other. Achievement is central to the purpose of King Charles. Committed staff, partnerships with families, and pupils’ desire to achieve all enable our pupils to thrive.
We would love to show you around our school and give you a taste of what life is like here at our school. If you would like to visit or have any queries, please contact our school office team on 01326 313607 for drop an email to email@example.com.

We are geographers! Year 3 loved using Oddizzi again to research about Iceland. We compared facts with those found about England and used our research to create information posters. We would all really love to visit the island of fire and ice!

Cornwall School Games – Netball – Bronze Medallists! Huge congratulations to our netball team who travelled to Bodmin yesterday to compete in the netball finals of the Cornwall School Games. The whole team did exceptionally well, playing seven back to back games against other area winners. They had to adapt quickly to a change in shooting rules, a variation of the game we have not previously played and were up against some tough competition. As well as their bronze medals they also came away with the school games values RESPECT AWARD. Every member of the team are shining sporting superstars and were great ambassadors for our school and Kernow Learning. Thanks to Mrs Booth who accompanied Mrs Olds and the squad and to Mr Ketteringham for driving the mini bus. It's been an enjoyable, successful netball season – well done everyone! #AsOne

Netball - Cornwall School Games here we come! Our brilliant netball team travelled to Penryn College on Friday to play in the second round qualifier for the School Games finals. Overall, we came second putting us through to the county finals. We won four games, drew one and narrowly lost another. Every member of the our team demonstrated great skills, sportsmanship and teamwork. Mrs Olds is one very proud coach! We are excited to travel to Bodmin later this week for the finals! Thanks to Mrs Broughton for also coming with us and to Penryn College pupils for umpiring, especially our King Charles alumni.
